Empowering Communities and Protecting the Environment
In many areas, the lack of accessible recycling facilities contributes significantly to the accumulation of waste, which can be hazardous or valuable. To address this issue, a community-driven recycling programme has been proposed, focusing on the collection of domestic batteries, spent blister packs, coffee pods, and other recyclable items such as inkjet cartridges and Brits filters. This initiative aims to reduce waste ending up in landfills and promote environmental sustainability.
The newly proposed recycling programme will be managed by a dedicated team of volunteers from the local community. These volunteers will oversee a series of depositories strategically located across areas lacking recycling facilities.
The depositories will be easily accessible to residents, providing a convenient way for them to dispose of their recyclable waste responsibly.
